La'Trecia Mallet is the Owner/ Artist Director of X-Treme Level Dance Company and Founder/Choreographer of Xtreme Motion Dance Crew from ABDC 5. Known for their signature style of "Bucking", Not only did they make history by being the FIRST ALL AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALES OF AMERICAS BEST DANCE CREW, they were the FIRST HBCU DANCE TEAM and the FIRST ONLY ALL GIRL CREW SELECTED FROM ALL REGIONS to hit the stage in ABDC History. Throughout Trecia's career, she has worked with many professional leagues, including the WBNA, NFL, ABA, SIFL, AFL, and the MLS. The one thing that makes her so different is that she not only has a passion for Dance, but for animals as well. She lives a double life as a Professional Dancer/ Choreographer and Company Owner, and also a Veterinary Assistant with hopes of becoming a Doctor Veterinary Medicine. Trecia has been making moves in the entertainment world since 2005. Having over 15 years of productive skills in Modern, Funky, Jazz, Hip Hop, Stepping, and House, her remarkable agility, flexibility, coordination, grace, and a sense of rhythm has gotten Trecia to where she is today. Her career as a dancer led her to landing a role as a cheerleader in the 2004 film Friday Night Lights, one of the few chosen to perform in the half time show for Super Bowl 37, and teaching young children in the Houston surrounding area self improvement, authentic dance moves, cheer, stepping, and twirling. She has also traveled across the world to Korea, Italy, Spain, Germany, Jordan, Turkey, and Belgium. She's had the pleasure to dance for artist such as J. Holiday, Adassa, Coline, Lyons Ave, G.T., and Leslie Gonzales. She's also opened for R&B leaders R. Kelly, Neyo, Keyshia Cole, Nina Sky, Lloyd Banks, and Olivia. Recently Trecia has worked with a variety group "The Glam Girls" on the Korean Tour for the US Army Troops. Not only is she the choreographer and lead dancer but she is also the production director.
Graduating from the Jack Yates Senior High School in 2002, she had dreams on starting her very own Dance Company. In 2005 Trecia was the captain of The Motion of the Ocean Majorette Squad at Texas Southern University leading her squad to being voted the best of the SWAC by Jet Magazine. That same year she started her Professional Team Career as a dancer for the WNBA Houston Comets where she was voted Rookie of the Year and Team member with the most energy on the court. Her days of Pro dancing wasn’t over, in 2007 she became an MLS Houston Dynamo Girl Cheerleader, she then knew it was time to take her craft to the next level. Having the ability to create new moves and adding her own special flavor to popular dance moves, she auditioned and was chosen to dance and choreograph the 2007 European Tour for Universal Recording Artist ADASSA. Currently Trecia has started a Majorette Scholarship at Texas Southern University, a program "Juss IV Kidz" dedicated to the children in the Houston Community, and the kids of the Armed Forces, established her very own Dance Company, teaching dance classes, and providing enrichment programs throughout Houston, Pasadena, and North Forest Independent School District.
Trecia's goals in life are to make success stories out of Houston's talent, instill in Dancers the importance of hard work, confidence and education of the craft, dedication, and taking dance to a new level. |
